Friday. May 31, 2013:  Temple Shalom visits Temple Emanuel of Andover for a Sephardic Shabbat service with Hazzan Idan Irelander.  There will be no service at Temple Shalom that evening.

Join Rabbi Hal at Temple Shalom every Tuesday night at 7:30pm for Adult Education.  The current topic is Greatest Hits of the Talmud.

November 29, 2012:  Temple Shalom hosted the first in this year's "Jewish Response" series, The Jewish Response to Aging, in collaboration with Jewish Geriatric Services of Longmeadow, The Aviv Center, and Hospice of the North Shore.

The series will continue on Thursday, March 14 with The Jewish Response to Bullying and Racism, at Temple B‘nai Abraham; Thursday, April 18, The Jewish Response to Homosexuality and Gender Equality at Temple Ahavat Achim and a final evening on The Jewish Response to Hunger and Homelessness, Part 2, later in the spring.

June 10, 2012:  Congregational Meeting in which the officers and directors were elected for a further term. In addition the Temple By-Laws were updated to reflect the Kehilla that exists today.

The Temple thanks profusely the outgoing Directors Gay Porter, Pam Stein, and Ellen Talkowsky and welcomes those directors who are retaining the membership in the board Cindy Lann, Dan Berg, Joan Shechet, James Stahl and Ina Resnikoff. The Temple also heartily welcomes the new directors Karen Hirsch, Liz Garon and Rachel Brown with a Butterfly bouquet of flowers.

The By-Laws were updated to reflect the society of 2012. In particular the blended and interfaith marriages or committed relationships are welcome in Temple Shalom. They will be accorded full family membership regardless of which spouse or partner is Jewish. They will have full voting rights at all meetings and can be a member of the Board of Directors or elected as an officer of the Temple, however, only Jewish partners can be members of the Spiritual Committee.
